Clifford Murray M.D.
Managing Director

Dr. Murray joined KSS in August 2008 as the Director of Healthcare Research, where responsibilities include corporate and financial analysis of Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical and Medical Device companies. He is a certified research analyst, and has obtained Series 7, 63, 86, and 87 licenses.

Dr. Murray has held position at several financial institutions including; M A Berman, Capital Growth Financial, EGS Partners and GMT Capital Corporation. He was the Healthcare portfolio manager and partner at EGS Partners, and the Healthcare portfolio manager at GMT Capital. His responsibilities generally included financial corporate analysis, market projections, and side-by-side evaluation of competing pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and medical device technologies.

Dr. Murray obtained his B.S degree from Tulane University and his M.D. degree from SUNY Downstate. From 1980-1986 he was a Clinical Instructor at Kings County Hospital Center, and also acted as the Clinical Director of the C1 Trauma Unit at Kings County Hospital Center during this time. During his years in clinical practice, he was the Assistant Director of Emergency Services at The Community Hospital of Brooklyn, and between 1986-1994 he practiced Emergency Medicine and Surgery on a full-time basis, acting as both an Attending physician and Medical Director in several locations that included Atlantic Medical Care and the Flashner Medical Partnership (acquired by Sanus Healthcare Corporation).

Christopher G. Hamilton, CFA
Executive Vice President
Director of Research

Mr. Hamilton joined Kern, Suslow Securities in 1999. He is a General Securities Principal of Kern, Suslow. His supervisory duties include the Research and Institutional Sales divisions of KSS Capital Markets. Mr. Hamilton specializes in Technical Analysis and publishes KSS Capital Markets' Technical Commentary research.

Mr. Hamilton received his BA in Managerial Economics from Union College in 1992. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He has obtained the Series 7, 63, 55, 24, 28 and 87 licenses.

Prior to joining Kern, Suslow Mr. Hamilton worked in trading, risk management and research capacities at Bankers Trust New York Corporation, Long Term Capital Management and Swiss Bank Corporation.

Robert Sassoon
Director, Special Situations Research

Robert Sassoon has more than 20 years of equity research experience with extensive exposure to special situations and international markets, having mainly worked for bulge-bracket investment banks in London and Hong Kong, including Credit Suisse, NatWest Capital Markets and Societe Generale (SG). During his career, he has achieved top 5 rankings in various analyst surveys, including the Extel and Greenwich surveys. Starting out as a basic materials analyst, Robert's research coverage has subsequently embraced multiple industries and public companies.

After starting his career in London, Robert spent 13 years in Asia, where he served as Director of Hong Kong Equity Research for SG. His principal area of research coverage in Asia was the conglomerates sector, which included analysis of a variety of industries, and often focused on corporate restructuring and event-driven themes. While in Asia, he also filled the role of Chairman of the Board of Managing Trustees of the JE Joseph Fund set up to administer and allocate funds for community projects in Shanghai.

Following his relocation to New York, Robert served as the lead author of the Global Spin-Off Report, responsible for identifying and providing comprehensive fundamental and valuation analysis of global corporate demergers and spin-offs. Robert holds a BA cum laude in economics & government from Essex University, UK, as well as a Masters degree in economics from the London School of Economics. Robert has current FINRA 7, 63, 86 and 87 licenses.
